Tuesday 24th Nov @ Darling Gardens

Hello wonderful YUkers (and interested newbs!),

Today we got wonderful news about easing restrictions on gatherings that might see us returning to our home at The Retreat Hotel in the not-too-distant future (they’ve been contacted to see what the options are…).

In the meantime, we are going to meet again at the bandstand in Darling Gardens in Clifton Hill.  We maxed out the bandstand last week, so perhaps we’ll spill onto the grass this coming week in case some extra folk come.  So, bring a chair or something to prop on, and a music stand.  The forecast is for a partly cloudy 21 C day with a softening breeze.  As the sun lowered last week it became a bit fresh, so bring a warm top or light jumper to slip into.  However, it’s a glorious place to play so please do come along and join us.

You’ll see I’m reorganising the MUSIC page to highlight our current repertoire.  Download the set onto a device or print them out and pop them in a folder.  The playlist varies a little week by week but it is nice to build our skills with a slowly shifting core of songs.

If you’re a beginner, remember that EVERYONE, absolutely everyone in the group has been where you are.  You’ll find sympathy, support and just need to be a bit ‘umble & patient with yourself while you figure out the tunes, unfamiliar chords or progressions.  See the latest post on the YARRA YUkers Facebook page for some tips on practice and learning. 🙂  You’ll get there!

See you Tuesday evening. 🙂
